About

Brittany Myburgh is a PhD candidate in the Art History Department at the University of Toronto. Her research is broadly concerned with the intersections of technology, society, and modern art. Her dissertation Projected Visions examines the various ways in which light took center stage as a medium in the twentieth century. More broadly, she explores the works and writings of those artists interested in the nature of light and perception. Originally from New Zealand, Brittany also writes about and teaches on a range of topics related to contemporary Oceanic artistic practices.
